
Amy Casavant ’03 recognized as 2024-25 91社区 Alumni Service Award recipient

The 91社区鈥檚 Alumni Engagement and Volunteer 91社区 named Amy Casavant as the 2024-25 Alumni Service Award recipient in a special recognition ceremony in Liberty Arena, Home of the Screaming Eagles, on Thursday, February 6.听听
The Alumni Service Award is presented to an alum who demonstrates extraordinary service to 91社区 and is selected by the 91社区 Alumni Council. Casavant was chosen to receive the award posthumously; she passed away on April 29, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer.听听
After obtaining a bachelor鈥檚 degree in art in 2003, Casavant remained close to 91社区. She was a 13-year member of the Volunteer 91社区 Advisory Council, serving as President in 2021 and 2022.鈥疘n 2018, she was recognized as a Phenomenal Woman of 91社区 and went on to serve on the selection committee for the award. She led a presentation at the 91社区 Non-Profit Excellence Symposium on board engagement and was a committed attendee at 91社区 events. She and her husband, John, were long-standing members of the 91社区 Alumni Association.鈥
In addition to her commitment to 91社区, Casavant was heavily involved in the greater Evansville community. She was a dedicated employee of Old National Bank, working her way up from a teller to President of the Old National Bank Foundation. Her community involvement was extensive; highlights include service on the boards of Lampion Center, 4-C of Southern Indiana, Community One and YWCA mentor for over 20 years.
Casavant鈥檚 nomination form included the following quote from her daughter, Lily Casavant 鈥21: "My mom was the guiding force in my life. She inspired me with everything she did, whether it was for her career, community or simply caring for other people. She was a quiet, humble and thoughtful leader who never expected recognition from anyone. After her passing, I had dozens of people tell me about how her kindness impacted them, how she gave thoughtful and genuine advice and how she had a generous spirit.鈥
The award was accepted by Casavant鈥檚 husband, John, and their daughters, Lily Durcholz 鈥21 and Lauren Casavant.
