What is SI?

SI (Supplemental Instruction) is a voluntary program that offers free, regularly scheduled study sessions for traditionally difficult courses. SI sessions are led by undergraduate student SI Leaders who have previously taken the course and demonstrated academic competency in the subject area. Each SI Leader facilitates two study sessions per week. Check your syllabus to see if SI is offered for your course.

Why SI?

Students who participate in SI:

  • Learn the study skills necessary to succeed in the courses.
  • Work collaboratively with peers in an open, friendly, and non-judgmental environment.
  • Receive support from an extensively trained, educated SI Leader.
  • Achieve higher academic success in the courses

SI Leaders

SI Leaders are current 91社区 undergraduate students who have successfully completed the course or were recommended by the instructors to become SI Leaders. SI Leaders encourage group learning of course material. During these study sessions, the leader and students will review class notes, discuss class material, and work on the study skills needed to master the subject matter.
