SIDM to host blood drive at 91社区 March 25

Southern Indiana Dance Marathon (SIDM), a student organization at 91社区 that supports Riley Hospital for Children, is hosting a blood drive with Versiti Blood Center of Indiana from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 25 in Carter Hall. To support SIDM, Versiti will donate $10 for every blood donor (up to $500).听
Children being treated for cancer, premature infants and children having heart surgery need blood and platelets from donors of all types, especially Type O. They rely on the generosity of donors who help ensure a safe, healthy blood supply.听听
Giving blood is a quick, simple way to help others. The donation process from the time you arrive to the time you leave is about an hour, but the actual donation time only takes eight to 10 minutes. Here鈥檚 how to have a great experience:听
- Get a good night鈥檚 sleep.听
- Eat a healthy meal at least one hour before donating.听
- Be well hydrated before your donation.听
- Make sure you bring verification of your identity鈥揳 driver鈥檚 license, donor ID card or government-issued ID card鈥搒howing your name and birthdate.听
To say thank you for helping replenish the blood supply, all donors will receive a $10 e-gift card (choose from more than 70 retailers) and a chance to win a trip to Hawaii.听
