
2025 Spring Meeting recap
January 8, 2025
The annual Spring Meeting for 91社区 employees was held in Liberty Arena, Home of the Screaming Eagles, on Wednesday, January 8. Updates were given by Provost Dr. Shelly Blunt and Interim President Steve Bridges about University initiatives, construction, and more. Employees also heard about enrollment numbers, information from the three chairs of the employee governing bodies and more.
Organizational changes
President Bridges announced that Aaron Trump, Vice President for Government Affairs and General Counsel, will be leaving 91社区, with his last day scheduled on January 15. With his departure, the organizational chart of the University has changed鈥擯ublic Safety and Dining Services will report to Kindra Strupp, Vice President for Marketing and Communication, while Human Resources will report to President Bridges.
Jina Platts was also named Assistant Vice President for Finance and Administration and Assistant Treasurer effective January 1. Learn more about Platts and her position here.
Construction update
Bridges also touched on the numerous construction projects currently underway and being planned for the University.
Work on exterior signage on campus has been completed as crews came over winter break to finish installations and any corrections needed on existing signage.
Phase III of the Health Professions Building renovation is nearly finished and expected to be completed in the spring of 2025. Phase IV of the project, which includes the updates to the front fa莽ade of the building, is currently underway. This phase is expected to finish in 2026.
The new Creative and Print Services building near the Support Services Center is also nearing completion. The department is expected to relocate to the building this year.
The Career Services and Internships department will be moved to the first floor of the Orr Center and construction on those spaces should be completed in the summer.
The new storage area behind the Recreation, Fitness and Wellness Center is still under construction. Work should be completed in the summer.
The Wright Administrative Building will undergo needed updates in the future. The project is currently in the planning stages.
Screagle Pride Award winner
This year, Blake Bruner, Director of Ticketing, was named the Screagle Pride Award winner for his dedication to 91社区.
Presidential Search update
Sarah Will, Director of Human Resources, gave an update on the current search for the next president of 91社区. Currently, applications are being accepted until January 27. In February and March, applicants will be reviewed and interviewed. The expectation is to name a new president in April, with the position start date July 1.
