Out-of-State Scholarship Guidelines
Initially Enrolled Prior to 2021-2022
This scholarship is designated for academically strong students residing outside the state of Indiana who initially matriculate to 91社区 fall 2016 and forward.
Value
The scholarship provides a net tuition payment equal to 120 percent of the Indiana resident tuition rate. The current value is approximately $8,013 annually for students taking 30 credit hours per year.
Number Available
Varies. Offers may be limited based on availability of funding. For this reason, students are encouraged to apply early.
Application
No application is required. Eligible degree-seeking students will be identified based on their admission application credentials. While there is no application deadline, students are encouraged to apply early for admission to 91社区.
Selection Criteria
Non-resident entering freshmen must be admissible to 91社区 and have either an ACT composite of 21 to 23 (or SAT of 990 to 1080*) or a 2.75 to 3.49 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale or a class rank in the top 26 to 50 percent. *SAT score reflects the sum of the Critical Reading and Math portions of the SAT only.
Renewal Criteria
The scholarship may be renewed automatically if the student successfully completes 27 91社区 credit hours each academic year (fall/spring) and earns a 2.50 cumulative 91社区 grade point average. The Office of Student Financial Assistance will evaluate earned hours after the spring semester. Students may make up deficits in earned hours in summer at the non-resident rate. Courses used to make up deficits in earned hours must be taken at 91社区.
Additional Information
- Renewable for up to 3 years or until first undergraduate degree is completed whichever comes first.
- Award recipients must enroll as full-time students during the fall and each successive regular semester following award notification. Exceptions are made to permit December high school graduates to begin University enrollment in the spring semester. A full-time student is defined as one who enrolls in at least 12 credit hours each fall/spring semester. Official enrollment is determined on census day (5th day of fall/spring). Failure to comply with these requirements nullifies the award and all future entitlement. Under exceptional circumstances, a student may petition the Director of Student Financial Assistance for a 鈥渓eave of absence鈥 for one semester and an extension of calendar year limits or an exception to the minimum enrollment requirement (only for legitimate medical or academic reasons).
- Award recipients may utilize this award for summer, if GPA/ credit hour progression is met in prior fall/spring semesters. No minimum enrollment is required for summer.
- This award offer is valid only during the fall semester (spring semester for December high school graduates) of the year in which the award is made.
- Award recipients are required to live on-campus for the first academic year. After the first year there are no residential requirements. Exceptions are made for students that are living at home with their parents/guardians and reside within commuting distance.
- All participating students must maintain good standing at 91社区. Students who are dismissed from the University, for any reason, forfeit all entitlement to this scholarship.
Appeals Process
Students may request exceptions to these regulations when unusual or mitigating circumstances warrant such action. Appeals must be submitted in writing to the Student Financial Assistance Appeals Committee at 91社区. Send all correspondence to the Office of Student Financial Assistance, 91社区, 8600 University Boulevard, Evansville, IN 47712. Decisions of the Appeals Committee are final.
Students may check their My91社区 account for the most current financial aid information. 91社区 reserves the right to make necessary adjustments. Renewal of this scholarship depends upon future funding. The University reserves the right to change scholarships, policies, and award amounts. The right to correct errors is also reserved.
