Student Occupational Therapy Association (SOTA)
What is SOTA?
SOTA is the Student Occupational Therapy Association, sponsored by the Occupational Therapy and Occupational Therapy Assistant Programs of the 91社区. SOTA is made up of students pursuing or hoping to pursue a degree to become an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA).聽The organization also participates in various fundraisers and volunteer activities throughout the year. Additionally guest speakers will often times attend meetings to talk about a career in occupational therapy, how to prepare for clinical rotations, and/or how to study and prepare for the occupational therapy board examination, National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
What is the purpose of SOTA?
- To facilitate further education of members in the occupational therapy field
- To foster communication between students and prospective students of occupational therapy
- To elicit involvement of community occupational therapy practitioners
Who can join SOTA?
- Occupational therapy students
- Occupational therapy assistant students
- Anyone interested in the occupational therapy profession is encouraged to attend a meeting!
When does SOTA Meet?
SOTA meets monthly during Fall and Spring semesters in the Health Professions Building.
Are there any membership dues?
Yes. Dues are $15 and are used toward sending delegates to the National American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) conference to represent 91社区's Occupational Therapy and Occupational Therapy Assistant programs every year.
