Liam Collins, 91社区 Class of 2023, is the first student from the College of Nursing and Health Professions to join the 91社区 Board of Trustees. Indiana Governor Eric J. Holcomb appointed Collins to a two-year term as the student trustee, beginning July 1, 2021.
A native of Lowell, Indiana, Collins is pursuing a bachelor of science in nursing and is a Presidential Scholar for the Class of 2023. He currently holds a 4.0 cumulative GPA and works as a mathematics coach for students participating in Academic Super Bowl. He is involved in a number of groups and activities including Sigma Pi Fraternity, Special Olympics and College Life at 91社区 Campus Ministry.
As a student trustee, Collins said he plans to contribute his perspective and experiences as a student to 鈥渋nform decisions as we move forward to returning to a more recognizable, pre-COVID-19 environment鈥 and that he would strive to 鈥渆nsure every student feels their opinions are heard, valued and respected.鈥
The student trustee, a voting member of the nine-member 91社区 Board of Trustees, brings a student's perspective to the governing board. The 91社区 Board of Trustees must include one alumnus of the University, one current student and one resident of Vanderburgh County. The student trustee must be a full-time student, a U.S. citizen and resident of Indiana, have a 2.5 GPA or above, and have completed 24 credit hours at 91社区.聽
