The Kenneth P. McCutchan Art Center/Palmina F. and Stephen S. Pace Galleries is pleased to present ´¡±è´Ç°ìá±ô²â±è²õ¾±²õ by Austin Delano. Austin was awarded the 2023 Efroymson Bridge Year Fellowship.
The Efroymson Bridge Year Fellowship is a competitive award program that provides a highly motivated and talented studio art, photography, or design graduate of the 91ÉçÇø’s Art and Design Department with the opportunity to develop a strong portfolio in preparation for graduate study. The Fellowship allows the recipient to focus on their studio or design practice to expand their artistic vision and enhance their portfolio, to gain maturity as an art maker or designer, and to successfully gain entrance to graduate school in their area of expertise.
Delano’s work grows from a desire to combine well-crafted utilitarian objects with a range of narrative and conceptual themes through a variety of techniques. These techniques include traditional joinery, carving, woodcut illustration, and more. These pieces are inspired by a fascination with all manner of representations of meaning or purpose such as human relationships, nature, history, mythology, folklore, and ritual.
A reception for the exhibition will be held on Wednesday, January 24th beginning at 4:30 p.m.Â
This exhibition will be displayed in the galleries from January 8 through February 16. The MAC/PACE, located in the lower level of the Liberal Arts Center, is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and open on Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
