Educational Records / FERPA
91社区 complies with federal regulations pertaining to student educational records, as set forth in the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974.
FERPA affords students certain rights with respect to their education records. FERPA guidelines may be found at the 91社区 website.
Under the Act, students have certain rights regarding official student records. These rights are summarized as follows:
- To be provided a list of the types of educational records, as defined in the Act, which is maintained by the school and which is directly related to the student.
- To inspect and review the contents of those records.
- To obtain copies of those records upon payment of expenses.
- To receive explanations of those records upon request.
- To obtain an opportunity for a hearing to challenge the contents of those records.
- To receive confidential treatment, by the school, of educational records; neither records nor personally identified information contained within, will be released without student or parent permission to anyone other than those parties specifically authorized by the Act.
- Student records are archived electronically and retained permanently.
